The inaugural Sidewalk Film Festival/Stowe Story Labs Narrative Lab will run August 21 - 24, 2019 at the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel.

Now in its 20th year, the nonprofit Sidewalk Film Festival showcases the work of more than 250 filmmakers and welcomes 15,000 film lovers to Birmingham, Alabama annually.

Now in its 7th year, the nonprofit Stowe Story Labs helps emerging screenwriters, filmmakers, and creative producers get work made and seen through intensive labs, workshops, retreats and mentoring programs.

The organizations are pleased to combine strength and vision to offer the 1st Annual Stowe at Sidewalk Lab. Details about the Sidewalk Lab can be found here.

We work to keep the cost of programming as low as possible. The 2019 fee to attend the four-day Lab is $2,250. It includes all content and receptions. Lodging is separate and is offered through the Birmingham Sheraton Hotel, which will offer deep and meaningful discounts to Lab participants.

We would prefer not to need to charge an application fee at all, but as non-profits with limited funding, we need to cover the cost of reviewing and responding to applications. We have set the application fee as low as practicable to allow us to meaningfully process the applications without discouraging serious applicants.
