How am I progressing through my grief journey? Have I acknowledged the painful emotions that I feel? Have I allowed or given myself permission to grieve, understanding that these feeling are normal and natural responses to loss?

Have I accepted the reality of death along with the fragility of life itself? Have I thought about my loved one's legacy? Have I thought about my own?

Am I ready to take the action to do the grief work so that I can begin to move forward? You don't have to choose between grieving the past and living in the present as these feelings can coexist. but you do need to allow yourself to work through these feelings, with God's help so that you can share your God-given talents with others.

How does the following verse relate to what we have discussed this week? Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Imagine never being “anxious about anything”! It seems like an impossibility—we all have worries on the job, in our homes, at school. But Paul’s advice is to turn our worries into prayers. Do you want to worry less? Then pray more! Whenever you start to worry, stop and pray. God’s peace is different from the world’s peace. True peace is not found in positive thinking, in absence of conflict, or in good feelings. It comes from knowing that God is in control. Our citizenship in Christ’s kingdom is sure, our destiny is set, and we can have victory over sin. Let God’s peace guard your heart against anxiety.
