• New Bike Tune

    A new bike tune-up is recommended at least once within your first 6 months of ebike ownership at between 300 and 500 miles.

    All electric bikes purchased at The New Wheel include 6 months of complimentary service.

  • Tune and Adjust

    Book a Tune and Adjust service for a la carte work on your bicycle. Our mechanics are trained and ready to work with you on a good service plan to make sure your bicycle rides beautifully and stays in good condition for years to come.

    Billed at time + materials based on a labor rate of $100 per hour. A $5 supply fee is added for all service over $25.  

  • Comprehensive Service 

    Our Comprehensive Service is a package that allows us to make your bike new again with full cleaning, full tuning and adjustment, and free installation of parts. Cables & housing installation, brake bleeds, and suspension service is 50% off.

    Our Comprehensive Service is $195 for a standard bicycle, $245 for an electric bicycle, & $285 for a cargo bicycle.

    One Comprehensive Tune-Up per year is included with a Comprehensive Service Membership. A $5 supply fee applies.

  • Other Service

    Need something installed? Have an issue, concern or a problem that isn’t covered in the services above? Book an “other service” and be as descriptive of your problem or request.

    Billed at time + materials based on a labor rate of $100 per hour. A $5 supply fee is added for all service over $25. 

  • Flat Tire Repair

    Flat fixes range from $15 to $35 plus parts.

  • Online Bike Assembly and Tune

    We can expertly assemble and tune your bike that was purchased online and work to ensure it performs as designed and meets our high standards. 

    Our workshop can work on the mechanics of all electric bicycles using standard bicycle components, and can work on the electronic systems of Bosch, Stromer and Specialized.

    Our bike assembly and tune service is $300 for electric bikes & $200 for non-electric bikes. A $5 supply fee applies.

  • Ebike Troubleshooting

    Our trained and certified service technicians are able to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair problems on electric systems from Bosch, Stromer and Specialized.

    Our Ebike Troubleshooting service is $100 and then billed at our standard rate of $100 per hour after the first hour. Once we figure out the problem, there may be additional costs to complete the repair.

  • Service Unavailable

    While we can work on the mechanical systems of most bikes, we only have training and spare parts for electronic systems from Bosch, Specialized and Stromer.  

    Here are our recommendations for service on this system:

    If you are unable to get help from your retailer or the manufacturer...

  • We May Be Able To Service This System

    • Ebike troubleshooting is $100/hr (1 hour minimum) to ascertain what is going on.

    • Once we figure out what's causing the issue, there may be additional cost to complete the repair if a repair is possible.

    • If your bike is under warranty we can submit for warranty reimbursement on your behalf if we are a dealer of your brand. Please bring your original sales receipt. Please note: There is a $55 warranty processing fee for each warranty submission.

    I Need Help Getting My Bike To A Store

    If you need a pick up and you live in San Francisco, Marin County or the East Bay, we may be able to arrange to pick up your bike in the next 7 weekdays (M-F).  Please send an email to info@newwheel.net and allow for a 24 hr turnaround on hearing back from our support staff.

  • Service Members - Emergency Roadside Pick Up

    If you're a Service Member, you may use your emergency roadside pick up benefit - your bike can be picked up and delivered to us. Your membership includes up to two pickups per year with delivery up to 30 miles. To initiate a roadside pick up call 415-524-7362 and follow the prompts.

  • Expedited Service

    • How does it work?  Schedule your dropoff appointment. Bring your bike in for an evaluation and quote at your appointment time and then we'll get working on your bike.
    • How long does it take?  Barring unforseen issues, your bike will be done by 5:30pm same day! 
    • How much does it cost?  Services over 30 minutes (i.e. tune ups) have a $95 expedited service charge .   Services under 30 minutes (i.e. flat fixes or small adjustment) do not have an expedited service charge. 
    • Do you have loaner bikes? Yes we do! Just select that you'd like a loaner and we will reserve one for you for $95 while your bike is in for service up to two weeks. Every day in excess of 2 weeks will be charged at $15 per day.
  • Same Day New Bike Tune

    Expedited service is complimentary for New Bike Tunes on bikes purchased from The New Wheel. For bikes not purchased at The New Wheel, or bikes not eligible for a New Bike Tune, a $95 same day service charge applies. 

    Bring your bike in at your scheduled appointment time and it will be ready by 5:30pm barring any unforseen issues.  

  • 2 to 3 Weekdays

    • How does it work?  Schedule your dropoff appointment at the location of your choice. Bring your bike to the shop at your scheduled time and we will get working on your bike! 
    • How long does it take?  Barring any unforseen issues, your bike will be ready in 2 to 3 weekdays (not including weekend days).
    • Do you have loaner bikes? Yes we do! Just select that you'd like a loaner and we will reserve one for you for $95 while your bike is in for service up to two weeks. Every day in excess of 2 weeks will be charged at $15 per day.

    • How does it work?  First you'll pick a time to have your bike serviced. Next you'll schedule a 2-hour window for your bike pickup. We currently service San Francisco, Central and South Marin, and parts of the East Bay.
    • How much does it cost?  Pickup service is free with a minimum service of $50 in parts, accessories or labor. For service tickets less than $50, the charge is $19 each way, or $38 round trip.
    • How long does it take?  Barring any unforseen issues, we will have your bike ready 2-3 weekdays (M-F) after your scheduled service appointment. Note that delivery and pickup days are not included in the 2-3 weekday service turnaround.  
    • How does pickup work?  Our driver will be in touch 20 minutes before arrival with an ETA. 
    • Can I get my bike delivered back? Yes! When your service is complete, we will call to arrange delivery back to you directly or delivery back to a store.
    • What bikes are NOT eligible for pickup?  We cannot accomodate 3-wheel bicycles for pickup or bikes weighing over 75lbs.
