  • 30th Annual Scollay Square Gallery Exhibition: April 27- May 31, 2019

    2019 BOSTON CITY HALL SHOW
  • SIZE, FRAME AND WIRE REQUIREMENTS: IF YOUR PIECES ARE NOT PROPERLY FRAMED OR WIRED YOU WILL BE ASKED TO REFRAME THEM OR REWIRE THEM AT DROPOFF!!

    • Paintings/Photography must be properly framed and wired.
    • The Scollay hanging system requires the work be framed EXACTLY as indicated. Please redo previously wired work as required. 
    • The screw eyes should be placed in the top ¼ section, (NOT 1/3) from the top of frame.
    • The wire and 1 1/2" hanging hook must not extend above the top of the piece when hung. Take excess slack out of wire if needed. 
    • No sawtooth hangers.
    • Work must have a wire.
    • Art without frames must not have side staples.
    • Frames must be sturdy and in good hanging condition.
    • Glass must be clean and free of finger prints.
    • Unfortunately, artwork not properly wired and framed will not be accepted.
    • Work will be inspected at drop-off and you will need to fix if necessary. 
    • Maximum size is 40" x 40"

    3D SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

    • Work not to exceed 30" L x 30" W x 20" H
  • To all Hyde Park Art Association (HPAA) artists who would like to participate in the 30th Annual Juried Art Exhibit at the Scollay Square Gallery at Boston City Hall from Saturday, April 27 - Friday, May 31, 2019. The date for the reception is TBA (based on Mayor Walsh’s availability). Sasja Lucas will curate this exhibit. Artists may submit up to three works for consideration. Number of works accepted will depend on exhibit spaces available and size of artwork submitted.

    MEMBERSHIP:

    1. HPAA Membership fee must be paid to participate in the exhibit.
    2. If you are unsure of your status, please email Erik Gehring, Programming Coordinator at erik@erikgehring.com.

    4. All artwork must be for sale.
    5. If a piece is sold, HPAA retains 30% of the sale price.

    The deadline for submission is Friday, April 12, 2019, 1159 pm.

    Please note: your work is not juried into this exhibit. It is juried for Awards.

    Thursday, April 18, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

    Friday, April 19, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

    Saturday, April 20, 10:00am - 12:00pm

    RECEPTION:

    1. Date/Time to be announced
    2. Location: Scollay Square Gallery, Boston City Hall

    AWARDS:

    1. This show will again be juried for Awards
    2. Awards will be announced and presented at the reception at Boston City Hall (date TBA).
    3. Categories will include: Best in Show, as well as First, Second, and Third places for Painting, Photography, and Other Media

  • HPAA MEMBERS SHOWCASE EXHIBIT AT THE MAC:
    This year we will again exhibit the Scollay Square exhibit at the Menino Arts Center to allow the community an opportunity to view our member's work.
