Range Rules
The Board of Directors of the Cape Cod Fish & Game Association has adopted the following Range Rules as of April 20, 2017:
- Outdoor range hours: Monday – Saturday 8am–sunset Sunday 9am-sunset
- Persons using the ranges, do so at their own risk. Name tags, eye and ear protection must be worn. Surveillance cameras are in use.
- Safe firearms practices must be followed at all times. Persons using the ranges must comply with all state and federal regulations.
- Using alcohol or drugs on any of the ranges is strictly prohibited.
- Loaded firearms must be pointed down range at all times. No loaded gun should ever be placed on a bench. If people are downrange setting targets, guns are not to be touched, including loading magazines.
- Outdoor Ranges – You may only have one gun out at a time. Please do not purposely fire at the ground, concrete walls, divider walls, or wooden target stands. On the 50-yard rifle range, target stands may be placed at
25 and 50 yards and on the 100-yard range targets may be placed at 100 yards exclusively. On the pistol ranges, target stands may be placed anywhere. On the plinking range, please remain behind the firing bench to shoot. If you have placed any items out to shoot, please clean up when you are finished.
- Shotguns - Please pattern your shotgun with bird shot on the trap field back board. You may shoot slugs andbuckshot on the rifle ranges. Shotguns are not to be used indoors or on the pistol range.
- There will be no fully automatic firearms used on any range, by anyone, at any time. Any usage or modification of a firearm to discharge more than once per trigger pull is forbidden. This includes “bump firing” and the use of Slide Fire devices.
- There will be no .50 caliber (or larger) rifles used anywhere on the property at any time, except black powder
rifles on the rifle range only.
- No use of any type or brand of explosive target is permitted.
- Carbine rifles less than 18” in length in traditional pistol calibers (9mm, .40, .45, .38, .357) may be used on any range, including the pistol, plinking, and indoor ranges. .223/5.56 may only be shot on the rifle ranges.
- If you use the ranges, it is expected that you will clean up after yourself---this means pick up your targets, trash and brass and dispose of it properly in the dumpster or brass barrel.
- Anyone that observes unsafe practices, or malicious damage being done on the range should report it to the Board.
- Members may invite only two (2) guests per day and are responsible for the actions of their guests.
- Members and their invited guests that do not follow range rules and demonstrate proper gun safety will be
expelled from the club.
We, the members of the Board, believe that these rules should be very clear. If there is any confusion, at all, please feel free to ask any Board member for a clarification. We will not tolerate abuse of the range or unsafe acts on the range.
Your cooperation will be appreciated.
