The CSRPC invites travel and research grant proposals from MA students.
Grants will be awarded up to $1500 for MA students. Funds will be awarded in the form of reimbursements and/or travel advances.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Responses can be expected within 2-4 weeks of receipt of the recommendation letter.
Allowable expenses include:
- travel for field/archival work
- academic conferences registration fees
- software, books, copying or printing costs
- research subject compensation (IRB approval required for human subject research)
Application includes:
- A one-to-two page grant proposal providing a description of the proposed research project or purpose of travel, travel dates, research to be accomplished during travel period, and the relevance of the project to the study of race and ethnicity. Project/use of funds must be directly related to your thesis.
- A one-page detailed budget, including other sources of funding if relevant, and an explanation of how the requested funding will be used
- Contact info for a faculty member who can serve as a reference (letter not required)
- IRB approval, if applicable
Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis, with responses given within 2 weeks of receipt of all materials.
NOTE: TRAVEL ADVANCES ARE NOT PROVIDED AFTER FEBRUARY 1, 2024.
