    The Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2003 (as amended), applies to many posts within Pointer Ltd.  Successful applicants will be required to submit a Disclosure Application.   Also during your employment, for specific posts within Pointer Ltd which has been identified as being included under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2003 (as amended) a Standard/Enhanced Disclosure Application will be required which entitles Pointer Ltd to access information on spent convictions, which the applicant should declare, as the results of which might impact on your suitability to work in a particular job.  

    Pointer Ltd complies fully with the Code of Practice, issued by Scottish Ministers, regarding the correct handling, holding and destroying of Disclosure information provided by Disclosure Scotland under Part V of the Police Act 1997 (“the 1997 Act”), for the purposes of assessing applicants’ suitability for employment purposes and other relevant purposes.  It also complies fully with the General Data Protection Regulations and other relevant legislation pertaining to the safe handling, use, storage, retention and disposal of Disclosure information and has a written policy on these matters.

    I understand that employment with Pointer Ltd is subject to satisfactory references and security screening in accordance with BS7858. I confirm that this will involve me providing Pointer Ltd with the relevant Disclosure (at Pointer’s expense) and give my permission for the Disclosure to be retained and information provided in line with business needs. 

    I undertake to cooperate with Pointer Ltd in providing any additional information required to meet these criteria;

    I authorise Pointer Ltd and/or its nominated agent to approach previous employers, schools/colleges, character referees or Government Agencies to verify that the information I have provide is correct;

    I authorise Pointer Ltd to make consumer information search with a credit reference agency as part of the preliminary checks, which will keep a record of that search and may share that information with other credit reference agencies. 

    I authorise Pointer Ltd to complete a Global Watchlist Check.  Cross-referencing the individual’s name against various sanctions, watchlists and fraud databases, including, but not limited to, the HM Treasury’s consolidation list of financial sanctions targets in the UK.  

    I understand that some of the information I have provided in this application will be held on a computer and some or all will be held in manual records.

    I consent to Pointer Ltd’s reasonable processing of any sensitive personal information obtained for the purposes of establishing my medical condition and future fitness to perform my duties.  I accept that I may be required to undergo a medical examination where required by Pointer Ltd.  Subject to the Access to Medical Records Act 1988, I consent to the results of such examinations to be given to Pointer Ltd.  I understand and agree that if so required I will make a Statutory Declaration in accordance with the provisions of the Statutory Declarations Act 1835, in confirmation of previous employment or unemployment.
