• School of Education Scholarship Application

  • Applicants will need to submit a short narrative statement indicating professional interests, Duquesne University activities and community work and/or involvement. The quality of the statement will play a significant role in the evaluation process. If the scholarship criteria includes financial need, make sure that you have filed a financial aid form with the Financial Aid Office of the University.

    For more information about the scholarships mentioned above that will be granted by the School of Education for the academic year or other opportunities, please visit the School of Education Scholarship webpage. Students can apply for more than one scholarship using our combined application.

    Application deadline, unless otherwise stated, is September 30.

    All awards will be distributed by November 1.

  • CECLIA MARIE WALLER ENDOWED STUDENT RESOURCE FUND provides students with financial support to defray non-tuition, ancillary educational expenses such as textbooks, lab fees and supplies.

  • CHARITY RANDALL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP provides scholarship support for a student in the School of Education who has demonstrated need.

  • JULIA PATTERSON ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP benefits a SoEd student and may be awarded to undergraduate and graduate students.

  • EINLOTH TERM STUDENT RESOURCE TRAVEL FUND benefits students in the School of Education who participate in Maymester or other study abroad programs. This financial support can be awarded based on merit, need or both to defray ancillary education expenses such as travel, airfare, classroom supplies, etc.

  • LAWRENCE A. ROCHE MEMORIAL FUND is a need based scholarship available to a junior who demonstrates general excellence in the School of Education and possesses a QPA of 3.0 or higher.

  • MARY FRANCES GRASINGER, CSJ, PHD, ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP is a renewable scholarship available to undergraduate students pursuing a dual certificate in special education who demonstrate an interest in or experience with Catholicism, or Catholic faith, history, or culture with a preference to first-generation college attendees. Awarded student will meet with the donor and Sr. Grasinger, must maintain a 3.0 GPA, fulfill all School of Education requirements on time, and mentor the chosen recipient(s) the following year.

  • MARY KAY WARD WALSH ENDOWED STUDENT RESOURCE FUND provides financial assistance to a student for ancillary educational expenses such as text books, travel, etc. Award is renewable.

  • RALPH & EDNA KIDDER RESOURCE FUND provides financial assistance to an undergraduate student to defray educational expenses such as textbooks. This award is need-based.

  • ROBERT BUZCEK MEMORIAL ENDOWED FUND assists students with the purchase of text books, travel and other such education expenses.

  • ROBERT J. AND ROSEMARIE SCHULER TERM STUDENT RESOURCE FUND provides financial assistance to a SoEd student to defray educational expenses such as textbooks. This award can be based on need or merit.

  • Did You Participate in Junior Achievement in High School?*

  • T. HELMINTOLLER TERM RESOURCE FUND supports educational expenses such as textbooks of a female student in good academic standing with a preference for students of Italian descent.

  • TIM AND MARY ANN ROONEY ENDOWED EARLY START SCHOLARSHIP FUND supports a student enrolled in the Early Start M.S.Ed. Reading and Literacy Education program in their undergraduate junior or senior year. Must be in good academic standing.

  • Are you a junior or senior undergraduate taking graduate courses as part of the Early Start Program?*

  • TOMORROW'S URBAN TEACHERS RESOURCE FUND provides financial assistance to an at-risk undergraduate student who demonstrates general excellence and possesses a QPA of 3.0 or higher. The student should have an interest in becoming a teacher in an urban school setting. Funds are to defray educational expenses such as textbooks, lab fees, supplies, etc.

  • VECCHIO TERM SCHOLARSHIP provides scholarship support to an undergraduate student in the School of Education with a preference to a graduate of Penn-Trafford School District. It is to be awarded based on merit and need and is renewable.
