On June 11-13, Mitchell Community College’s Culinary Arts program is opening up its kitchen to a little younger student—KIDS! This summer, rising fourth and fifth graders will have the opportunity to come into the kitchen and learn basic cooking skills that will allow them to make the following items: scratch-made pizza dough that will turn into their own pizza, fresh cookies that they will be able to take home and share with their family and simple pastries and breakfast foods (like pancakes and waffles)!
Campers also will see how a commercial kitchen works and all the safety features that go into cooking great meals. They will not only take home the amazing food but also an apron for all their hard work through the days of the camp. I look forward to working with these young chefs!
