This must be an ongoing research project / lab / journal overseen by a UNC faculty member. It cannot be a project of your own design that a faculty member is supporting (i.e., not an independent study project).

Upon submission of this form, an email will be sent to your faculty mentor asking them to review your proposal and send a statement of approval to our office. Once we have that approval in hand, our office will conduct a final review and notify you of our decision.

Please note that you DO NOT need to submit this form for permission to earn credit for any of the courses below. We automatically award program credit for these cousres equivalent to the number of registered hours:
- Any 600-, 700-, 800- or 900-level course
- BMME 560
- INLS 523, 539, 585
- PUBH 510
For other courses, please note that we typically only approve requests when:

Provide a tentative schedule for meetings with your instructor. You must meet with your instructor at least three times after your Honors Contract is approved.
Describe the final product of your Honors Contract. All contracts must result in at least ten pages of written work; contract that take the form of a presentation, performance, artwork, or product / application design should be accompanied by at least ten PowerPoint slides. Be sure your description below indicates that your project will meet this requirement.
