Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was founded on January 13, 1913, on the campus of Howard University by twenty-two collegiate women. These women wanted to use their collective strength to promote academic excellence and aid to persons in need. Each year our organization recognizes hundreds of students across the nation for their scholastic achievements. The Knightdale-Wake Forest Alumnae Chapter will award one scholarship to a deserving, African-American female student who has demonstrated exceptional academic and leadership skills. Applicants must meet the following criteria:
The candidate must be a current, African-American high school senior, entering as a freshman at an accredited college, university, technical or community college with at least a 2.75 or unweighted equivalent grade point average (GPA). Awards are made on a competitive basis. Students must have an overall 2.75 GPA and must have maintained at least a 2.75 GPA throughout his/her senior year of high school. Candidate must attend a high school in Knightdale-Wake Forest (KWF) Alumnae Chapter’s Service Area (East Wake, East Wake Academy, Franklin Academy, Heritage, Knightdale, Millbrook, Neuse Christian Academy, North Raleigh Christian Academy, Ravenscroft, Rolesville, Thales Academy, Wakefield, or Wake Forest).

Accepted for admission to an accredited college or university for the upcoming semester (Fall 2019)
One (1) sealed letter of recommendation; must be from a school official (i.e., principal, teacher, school counselor, etc.) Cannot be a relative of the student
Official high school transcript as of January 2019 (sealed)
