TO BE APPLIED TOWARD TUITION, BOOKS, AND FEES
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was founded on January 13, 1913, on the campus of Howard University by twenty-two collegiate women. These women wanted to use their collective strength to promote academic excellence and aid to persons in need. Each year our organization recognizes hundreds of students across the nation for their scholastic achievements. The Knightdale-Wake Forest Alumnae Chapter will award one scholarship to a deserving, African-American female student who has demonstrated exceptional academic and leadership skills. Applicants must meet the following criteria:
The candidate must be a current, African-American collegiate freshman, sophomore, or junior with at least a 2.75 or unweighted equivalent grade point average (GPA). Awards are made on a competitive basis. Students must have an overall 2.75 GPA. Candidate must be registered at on of the following institutions of higher learning: Shaw University, St. Augustine's University, or North Carolina Central University. The scholarship will be awarded to two individuals - $1,000.00 each.
