Health Insurance Requirement for Volunteers and Staff
Each volunteer or staff member serving with Metro Ministries must have valid health insurance coverage for the entire duration of their stay in Costa Rica. This requirement is not only a preventive measure but also a way to ensure that every volunteer is properly protected in the event of any unforeseen circumstances that may arise during their service.
It is the responsibility of each volunteer to verify that their policy is active and valid, and that the coverage is sufficient to include general medical care, hospitalization, and emergencies. It is also recommended that the insurance policy include coverage for accidents and medical evacuation, especially for those coming from abroad.
Metro Ministries does not assume financial responsibility for any medical, hospital, or emergency expenses that may occur during the volunteer or staff member’s stay. Therefore, it is essential that each person have insurance coverage that meets their specific needs and the length of their stay in the country.
This requirement is intended to ensure that every volunteer is protected and supported. Our desire is that each person can serve with peace of mind, knowing that in the event of any health-related situation, they will be properly covered and cared for.
