  • Volunteer Opportunities

    Read about some of our upcoming opportunities below! If you are looking for something more specialized, make sure to let us know and we'll see if we have a match.
  • Gallery Assistant: Abington Art Center has exhibition programming year-round, with new shows opening every 6 weeks. Assist our Gallery Manager with preparation, installation, and de-installation of shows. This is a great opportunity for those that enjoy working with their hands and would like to learn more about exhibiting artwork. 

    Gallery Monitor: Volunteer to monitor our galleries. You will greet visitors, provide AAC information and directions.

    Event Assistant: We have tons of public events during the year, such as our two craft fairs and our annual summer concert series. Assist our Live Arts Coordinator with set up, traffic managing, and break down of the event space. This is a great opportunity for those that enjoy working in team environments and would like to do something bennefitting the community. 

    Studio School Assistant: Assist Studio School staff with organizing classrooms, supplies and checking in and out students in our youth program. Answer phones and direct calls to the appropriate party.

    Gardening: AAC has flower beds, shrubbery and planters that need maintained with weeding, trimming and some planting.

    Volunteers working with our Youth Program will need to submit their PA Clearances.
  • To volunteer with our Youth Program at the Abington Art Center, a total of 3 records are required. Clearance records are required to work around children. 
    *ALL forms must be emailed to ljohnson@abingtonartcenter.org for processing and approval.


    Form 1 and 2 are free of charge for volunteers.
    Form 3 stipulates; 
    If you’ve lived in the U.S for MORE than 10 years you can fill out an FBI fingerprint exception form. This form is free. 
    If you have lived in the U.S for LESS than 10 years you must have your fingerprints documented. To have your fingerprints documented costs around $25.00. Once done you can submit a reimbursement form and be fully reimbursed. 

    Form 1- State Police Criminal History Record
    Act 34 (Dated within the last one year)
    Fill out the new volunteer record check form, free of charge 

    Form 2 -  Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
    Act 151 (Dated within the last one year)
    * You may already have this clearance if you work in a school/ volunteer for your child’s school. If you have received this paperwork within the past year you can forward it. 

    Form 3 - FBI Fingerprint Exemption Form 
    You’ve lived in the U.S for MORE than 10 consecutive years
    This form will be can be emailed to you.  Once received, you will digitally sign and email it back to melissaf@abingtonartcenter.org or sign and bring to the studio school during office hours

    Form 3 - Federal Criminal History Background Check (Fingerprinting)

    If you have lived in the U.S for LESS than 10 years, you need to get your fingerprints done
