GUIDELINES FOR THE ILLUSTRIOUS DAVian AND YOUNG DAVian AWARDS

Introduction:

A large number of highly talented, extraordinarily bright and gifted scholars have passed out of DAV Group of Schools and distinguished themselves by their brilliant achievements in their respective professions and by their contributions to Society at large. In order to recognize, honour and felicitate these inspiring achievers DAV-DAA has instituted the Illustrious DAVian Award (IDA) and Young DAVian Award (YDA) as an annual event.

Categories:

The Alumni may have excelled in any walk of life ranging from Academia, Innovations in Technology, Entrepreneurship, proven exceptional Leadership and Managerial skills to Sports, Music, Art, Literature, Community Development and NGOs or Spiritual Development.

Awards have been instituted to honour both the Young Achievers as well as the Lifetime Achievers among the Alumni of the DAV Group of Schools. Nominations will therefore be invited in two categories, namely:

(1) Illustrious DAVian Award (IDA) – Above the age of 35

(2) Young DAVian Award (YDA) – Below the age of 35

One Alumnus will be chosen under each of the above two categories. Details regarding the event during which Awardees will be felicitated shall be communicated once confirmed.

General Process Guidelines:

1. The call for nominations are circulated in March every year.

2. Last date for nominations – April 30th, 2020.

3. The awardees will be announced in June 2020.

4. Self-nominations are discouraged. An alumnus can nominate a fellow alumnus from any batch or from any other branch of DAV Group of Schools.

5. An alumus can make only one nomination in each category – YDA & IDA.

6. Alumni, who are currently serving DAV Group of Schools or DAA in any capacity - either paid or honorary, are not eligible for nomination.

7. Nominations will be considered for a period of 2 years from the date of nomination. It will be the responsibility of the nominator to update supporting information if needed.

8. The selection will be by a special committee appointed by the DAV Group of Schools.

9. The selection committee may reach out to shortlisted Nominees over phone / mail to seek clarifications, if any.

10. Travel (Domestic,Economy class) & hotel stay for outstation Awardees will be arranged by DAA.

11. The Awardees will be honoured with a Citation and a specially designed figurine reflecting DAV’s mission.
