Matt Kania will offer a demonstration and hands-on instruction in "How to Paint Quickly." Enjoy the benefits of responding intuitively to the transient moments of a landscape.
Capture what you love about your subject without getting lost in the details. Whether it's the subtle colors of early morning light, or the raking light of an evening's sunset, or your subject may soon get up and walk away — working quickly and smartly will allow you to not miss out on the magic moments that make great paintings! This will be an instructor-led and hands-on workshop to help us learn how to respond to our subject in a sincere, swift, and skillful manner.
What to bring and where to meet:
Paint-box, full supplies and 8x10 (or similarly small) canvas panels.
Meet at the Johnson Heritage Post Art Gallery, 115 W. Wisconson St., Grand Marais, MN. Meet outside the front door at 8:50am and the group will walk together to conduct the workshop at Harbor Park across the street.
