Waiver, Release & Indemnity

In consideration of the acceptance of this form and the permission to participate in Tractor Trek 2019, Steinbach, I hereby for myself, my heirs, administrators, and assigns, release, waive and forever discharge Eden Foundation/Eden Health Services & Mennonite Heritage Village (Canada) Inc. and their associated companies and their respective employees, agents and representatives of and from all claims, demands, damages, costs, expenses, actions and causes of action, whether in law or equity, in respect to death, injury, loss or damage to my person or property however caused, arising or to arise by reason of my participation in the said event, whether as a spectator or participant or otherwise, whether prior to, during or subsequent to the event and notwithstanding that same may have been contributed to or occasioned  by the negligence of the aforesaid.  I further hereby undertake to hold and save harmless and agree to indemnify all of Eden Foundation/Eden Health Services and Mennonite Heritage Village (Canada) Inc.  and their associated companies and their respective employees, agents, and representatives from and against any and all liability incurred by any or all of them arising as a result of, or in any way connected to my participation in the said event. 

 

It is to be understood that no tractor or tractor driver is covered by the Mennonite Heritage Village Liability Insurance.

I grant Mennonite Heritage Village and Eden Foundation permission to use any photos that may be taken of me or my tractor to use for promotional purposes.

 

By agreeing to these conditions, I have acknowledged that I have read, understood and agreed to the above Waiver, Release and Indemnity.  I warrant that I am of legal age and physically fit to participate in this event.

The $150 registration per tractor covers the cost of participation including all meals and an extra invitation for a spouse or friend for supper.  All fundraising proceeds go directly to the cause.  Each Trekker will be responsible for the registration fee and is asked to collect pledges. ($400 minimum guideline) A tax deductible receipt will be issued for all donations $20.00 or more. 

The Mission of Mennonite Heritage Village is to “To preserve and exhibit, for present            

                   and future generations, the experience and the story of the Russian Mennonites and

                   their contributions to Manitoba.”  Part and parcel of preserving and exhibiting history is education of younger generations whose life experiences are far removed from these stories.  A rich understanding of our heritage can strengthen individuals and communities as they process and understand how and why it is that we happen to be here today.

 

Our Vision Statement says “Mennonite Heritage Village will be the premier international interpretive centre for the Russian Mennonite story.”  As such, we attract visitors from across North America and around the world.  Not only do these visitors experience the story of our Mennonite heritage, many of them also become tourists in Manitoba, enjoying a variety of destinations and services.

Eden Foundation is the financially supportive arm of Eden Health Care Services, whose vision statement is “People of faith actively engaged in sharing Christ’s hope and healing wherever mental health needs are  found.”  We believe that mental health recovery is best realized in the context of a caring community, giving consideration to the whole person . . . physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual.

That story is being lived out in the housing services of Penfeld Court and Wilson Courts, the Segue Career Options program and Recovery of Hope in Steinbach as well as other locations in Manitoba.
