LPC Honors Transfer Program NEW MEMBER Application

Please submit this application ONLY if you are NEW to the Honors Program. Once your application is approved you will be able to join the Honors Program Canvas and can start taking Honors Courses. You should NOT submit this application more than ONCE.
PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE COMPLETING THE FORM!

This form is NOT an application for a specific Honors COURSE, it is an application for the Honors PROGRAM membership. It is only submitted ONCE. Being a member of the PROGRAM means you are eligible and are pre-approved to take Honors Courses. You do NOT need to submit this application again if you were already approved to take Honors Courses. There are different forms for specific Honors COURSES, available to approved members of the Honors PROGRAM only. Submitting multiple applicaiton for NEW Membership will mess up your Honors records for transfer agreements.
- Do NOT use this form to turn a specific Course into Honors, it will not work, it will only become a problem for your records.
- Do not complete this form agian if you were not approved in the past. If you have new information you have to find an edit link in the email response you received the first time your submitted your application and UPDATE your first applicaiton, instead of submitting a new one.
Eligibility Requirements

You are eligible to apply for membership in the Las Positas College (LPC) Honors Transfer Program (HTP) if you meet one of the following of criteria:
1. For continuing LPC students or students transfering from other community colleges, you must:
  - Have completed 12 or more units at a college level with an overall GPA of 3.5 (please submit a digital copy of your unoficial transcript when applying to the program), OR
  - Have a recommendation/provide a name of an LPC instructor who has agreed to mentor your honors project
2. For first-time community college students (entering from high school), you must:
  - Have an overall GPA of 3.75 or greater from high school (please submit a digital copy of your high school transcript when applying to the program), OR
  - Have a recommendation/provide a name of an LPC instructor who has agreed to mentor your honors project, OR
  - Have a recommendation letter from your high school counselor or teacher (please submit a digital copy of the letter when applying to the program or have your counselor email it to ikeller@laspositascollege.edu

Do NOT complete this section if you meet the GPA requirement. Only complete this section if your GPA is below the minimum but you still want to try the Honors Program conditionally. Note that the Honors Program will not benefit you in the future of you do not raise your GPA above the minimum required.
If your GPA is below required but you know an LPC faculty who is supporting your application and has agreed to mentor your FIRST Honors Course, knowing that your GPA is above the required minimum, please indicate their name below so that the GPA requirement can be waived for now.
