I am so happy to be hiking again!
I finished chemo treatment for late stage Ovarian Cancer about a year ago. Now I have joined a special group of women cancer survivors that want to stay active & thrive. Team Survivor Northwest is the group.
I am doing several programs with them: a weekly Hiking group, a Dragon Boating Team, and a Fund Raising Climb up Mt Adam's.
I love hiking, but I have never climbed to the top of a volcano before. I said YES to the Mt Adam's hike before I knew that there are 3 nights of camping. I don't camp. Not only do I need to carry my camping gear but also carry climbing gear. Harness? Ice Axe? Parka? Really? I will have 40 lbs of gear to carry. I can do that...for 15 minutes...on a flat.
I guess I have taken a very big bite into advancing my hiking level. If I train, I can do it ! So here I go!
Training for this climb should get me very healthy. I want that. I also want to contribute to this organization. This is my fundraising page. $2500 is the goal for each hiker. If you choose to contribute it would not only be helping me, but helping TSNW and its many volunteers set up programs for cancer survivors to stay healthy through fitness & friendship in our endeavors to keep cancer from returning.
Thank you for taking the time to read my page and for considering a contribution to this fundraiser in support of me. ❤
