Volunteers in our community do the most amazing things! We want to recognise these inspiring people for the fantastic work they do, by celebrating the power of volunteering.

Please nominate people from Hull, East Yorkshire and North & North East Lincolnshire who have volunteered in the last 12 months, since May 2024 (unless it's for the Founding Volunteer or Long-Serving Volunteer categories).

Your nomination will be judged on the quality in terms of volunteer impact only, not on the number of nominations received for the same person. Please sit back with a cuppa, include as much information as possible, and tell us about an amazing volunteer you know!

It's free to nominate and all shortlisted nominees will receive two complimentary tickets to an Awards ceremony and celebration at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Hull on Wednesday, 8 October 2025, 13:00 - 16:30. Extra tickets can be purchased at £20 per person.

Active and Sports Volunteer Award - This award recognises a volunteer who encourages people to be physically active, whether it’s leading a walking group, serving refreshments at a grassroots football club, or voluntarily organising competitive sports.Behind The Scenes Volunteer Award - This volunteer works quietly in the background but keeps groups and charities going. They don’t make a song and dance about their volunteering, so we will!Good Neighbour Volunteer Award - This volunteer makes their neighbourhood or local community a better place. They make people happier and more connected to create a positive community feel.Environmental Volunteer Award - This award is for someone who volunteers in the natural world, either to protect and preserve it, shout about the importance of it, or to help others experience it.Founding Volunteer Award - Organisations often begin with a founder who had the bravery to make an idea happen. Nominate a volunteer who changed lives when they volunteered to start a group or charity. (This category isn't limited to volunteering in the last 12 months.)Inclusive Volunteer Award - This volunteer empowers people to feel included and valued. The winner might work within BAME communities, the LGBTQ+ sector or with people who have a disability.Older Volunteer Award - This award is for a volunteer who is over 75, and who’s stamina and commitment to making a difference should be celebrated!Young Volunteer Award - This award is for a volunteer who is under 25, has brought energy and enthusiasm, and shown real initiative to do something good. This is the young individual category, not team. If you wish to nominate a young group of volunteers, please nominate under the team section.Long-Serving Volunteer Award - This volunteer has dedicated large parts of their life to volunteering. They may have supported many organisations and causes over the years, giving their time year in year out. (This category isn't limited to volunteering in the last 12 months.)Volunteer Trustee Award - This award recognises an influential Trustee who drives a charitable board and contributes through hard work, skills and commitment.Volunteer Team Award - This award is for a collective of volunteers who work together to change lives. The winning team will be a strong unit who supports each other, as well as the work they do.
