Wags & Whiskers Foster-to-Adopt Application

The adoption fee for ALL Wags and Whiskers dogs is $195. The adoption fee includes: de-worming, age appropriate vaccinations, spay/neuter, heartworm test (for dogs over 6 months of age), and rabies shot (for dogs over 16 weeks of age).

Wags and whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. We also have full-time jobs and Families. We will try to answer all questions and applications in a timely manner. Please be patient and bear with us . Do Not contact (Tillmans Corner Vet Hospital, Mobile, AL Southern Vet Clinic, Lucedale, MS, SNIP, Ocean Springs, MS or Semmes Animal Hospital, Mobile, AL as they are a vet clinic and can not answer questions on behalf of Wags and Whiskers. Wags & Whiskers is not responsible for any damage to property or persons while I am fostering or once the adoption is completed and the pet has been released to me.*

I CAN NOT take my foster-to-adopt pet to any other vet except (Tillmans Corner Vet Hospital, Mobile, AL Southern Vet Clinic, Lucedale, MS, SNIP, Ocean Springs, MS or Semmes Animal Hospital, Mobile, ALl. I can only take my foster to (Tillmans Corner Vet Hospital, Mobile, AL Southern Vet Clinic, Lucedale, MS, SNIP, Ocean Springs, MS or Semmes Animal Hospital, Mobile, AL ) with express permission from the rescue. Any other vet or unauthorized vet visits to (Tillmans Corner Vet Hospital, Mobile, AL Southern Vet Clinic, Lucedale, MS, SNIP, Ocean Springs, MS or Semmes Animal Hospital, Mobile, AL ) will not be paid for by the rescue and any charges will be my responsibility until after the adoption has been finalized and the vet records are released to me!*

Wags and Whiskers is not responsible for any medical bills acquired at any other vet hospital besides what they approve at (Tillmans Corner Vet Hospital, Mobile, AL Southern Vet Clinic, Lucedale, MS, SNIP, Ocean Springs, MS or Semmes Animal Hospital, Mobile, AL ).*

I understand that it is Wags and Whiskers policy (like that of all other shelters and rescues) that all animals must be altered before the adoption is finalized. This includes pediatric spay and neuter starting at 9 weeks of age and 2 pounds. There is not an exception to this rule unless Wags and Whiskers vet deems it medically necessary to not preform the procedure at that time. *

I understand that all pets in my care for foster-to-adopt must be spayed/neutered before my adoption can be finalized. I agree to take the pet to (Tillmans Corner Vet Hospital, Mobile, AL Southern Vet Clinic, Lucedale, MS, SNIP, Ocean Springs, MS or Semmes Animal Hospital, Mobile, AL )l at the time specified by the rescue to be spayed/neutered *

I understand that all puppies with less than two sets of vaccinations can not leave their home and I can not let their paws touch the ground for any reason. I understand that puppies with less than two sets of vaccinations are susceptible to the deadly parvo virus and can become ill and die. *

I understand if I am adopting out of Wags and Whiskers area of Mobile, AL and a medical issue arises within the first 5 days, I am responsible for seeking treatment personally and I am financially responsible for all treatment besides anything that Wags and Whiskers approves if the pet can be returned to (Tillmans Corner Vet Hospital, Mobile, AL Southern Vet Clinic, Lucedale, MS, SNIP, Ocean Springs, MS or Semmes Animal Hospital, Mobile, AL ) for treatment *

If for any reason I cannot keep this pet now or in the future, it MUST be returned to Wags and Whiskers and cannot be re-homed by me or anyone else*

I understand that if the pet must be returned I am responsible for transporting the pet back to Wags and Whiskers. *

I understand that in most cases Wags and Whiskers has no previous history of the animals in their care. These animals are often strays and this includes but is not limited to vetting history. *

I understand this pet is not currently adoption ready and that a $50 NON REFUNDABLE deposit can be placed to reserve and hold the pet while I foster. The remaining $125 of the adoption fee is due before or at the time the adoption is finalized.*

I have 5 days after the adoption is finalized to take my newly adopted dog to my own personal vet to ensure he or she is healthy. *

I understand If a medical issue is discovered within the first 5 days after the adoption is finalized that I need to contact Wags and Whiskers Immediately and they will get in contact with (Tillmans Corner Vet Hospital, Mobile, AL Southern Vet Clinic, Lucedale, MS, SNIP, Ocean Springs, MS or Semmes Animal Hospital, Mobile, AL ) ONLY and have it corrected. *

I understand if I am adopting out of Wags and Whiskers area of Mobile, AL and a medical issue arises within the first 5 days, I am responsible for seeking treatment personally and I am financially responsible for all treatment besides anything that Wags and Whiskers approves if the pet can be returned to (Tillmans Corner Vet Hospital, Mobile, AL Southern Vet Clinic, Lucedale, MS, SNIP, Ocean Springs, MS or Semmes Animal Hospital, Mobile, AL ) for treatment *

If any issue arises within the first 5 days after adoption, I understand a full refund, less the $50 non refundable deposit if paid beforehand, of the adoption fee will be given only with the return of the animal. *

I agree to pay the adoption fee of $195 in full before medical records on the pet are released.

All of the information I have given is true and complete. This dog will reside in my home as a pet. I will provide it with quality dog food, plenty of fresh water, indoor shelter, affection, annual physical examination and vaccinations under the supervision of a licensed Veterinarian for the life of my pet.*
