Yes
I accept that although Vex robotics clubs are not currently bound by the rules of the MSHSL regarding academics and behavior; those rules which govern Minnesota student athletics will also apply to members of the Southland VEX robotics teams.
I understand that there are requirements in the summer and will make every attempt to participate in at least one of the activities (practices required) considered part of the 2024-5 season:
Adams Dairy Days Parade
Rose Creek Days Parade
Sunflower Days Demonstrations
summer practices (HS-if scheduled, unless discussed with coaches)
August practices (MS-probably 2-3 times mid August)
I understand that this is an extra curricular activity, so grades come first. Qtr.4 grades from the previous year will affect eligibility to be on a team- as does the teacher reference for new students.
I understand that attendance at practice is mandatory unless a previous arrangement has been made with coaches-missed practices may lead to removal from team.
Behaviors that need to be redirected multiple times in a practice will result in possible suspension from the team.
I understand the coaches will make the final decisions about team roles.
During practices I will support my team by (choose two):
*
Designing the webpage/updating social media
Competing in the Online Challenges
Designing, building, and fixing the mechanics of the robot
Organizing the tools and materials
Keeping the Engineering Notebook up to date (Industry standards)
Programming the Robot (Text based C++/Python language)
Creating Information for Tournaments (Scouting, communication)
CAD (learn Computer Aided Design-based on Industry Programs)
