- Writing sample. The writing sample should be no more than 5,000 words and should contain your own legal analysis. You may use a document drafted during law school or a summer internship so long as it does not contain material that is privileged or otherwise confidential.
- Cover letter.
- Certificate of good standing in the State of New Jersey. A candidate must have a certificate of good standing in the event an offer for the position is made. If you are awaiting bar results you will not have this document. Please submit all other documents.
- Resume. Please upload a current version of your resume.
- Scanned copy of law school transcript. Applicants who are licensed less than 5 years must submit a scanned copy of your official or unofficial law school transcript. If you need to request a copy of your transcript, you may download a sample transcript request form here.

1. Private Practice: I acknowledge it is the policy of the Division of Law that no applicant will be employed by the Division of law except on condition that the applicant agrees not to engage in the private practice of law during his or her period of employment.
2. Residency requirement: I recognize that employees of the Office of the Attorney General are subject to an in-state residency requirement. Under state law, employees must reside in New Jersey within one year of beginning employment or obtain an exemption from the residency requirement.
