Scott Lloyd Anderson will demonstrate his approach to creating large paintings in the field. He'll demonstrate his process on a 30x40 inch surface at Sugarloaf Cove, a stunning and unique geological setting near Schroeder. The demonstration will be video recorded and made available via private YouTube link to all registered participants.
What to bring:
Sketchpad/notebook and pencil
Camp stool or chair
Water and sun protection
Where to meet:
Sugarloaf Nature Center, 9096 Highway 61 in Schroeder, about 36 miles southwest of Grand Marais. The driveway entrance is between mile markers 74 and 73. A bathroom is located in the Nature Center.
The class can be held in the Nature Center classroom in case of rain
Remote participants will receive an emailed YouTube link to the recorded workshop demonstration.
After the workshop: From 4:00pm, an Artists' Social and campfire will be hosted by Allison Eklund at her family's neighoboring property called Sugarloaf Family Cabins, 9210 Highway 61, between mile markers 73 and 72. Happy hour refreshments will be provided.
