JUSTICE, EQUITY, DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION COMMITTEE

The Justice Equity Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) Committee is responsible for the review and guidance of OMA activities, with the immediate goals of expanding justice, equity, diversity, and inclusivity, using an antiracist lens, in healthcare and the field of medicine, and reducing health outcome disparities for people of all identities. The Committee will form short term subject matter focused subcommittees or workgroups and recommend member appointments to those subcommittees with the advice and consent of the President. The Committee will review policy and governance procedures and make recommendations in coordination with the Policy and Governance Committees for equity-focused improvements when appropriate. The Committee will be expected to oversee and develop equity-focused training and educational offerings for OMA leaders, members, and stakeholders. The Committee will provide an equity-focused review and recommend needed adaptation of OMA positions, policy, and public statements. The Committee will collaborate with external stakeholder groups consistent with OMA policies.
