* Your safety and comfort is top priority. If there's anything Ashley can do to create the best space for you to feel safe and comfortable, let her know.
* SoleCal's sessions are longer than most. For your comfort, please use the restroom before your session begins.
* Please remove your shoes upon entering SoleCal Barefoot Massage & Wellness. You can leave them under the bench or by the chairs near the front door.
* Communication is key! If at any time you feel uncomfortable for any reason, please let Ashley know so she can make adjustments for you.
* Understand that what you need at your first session may differ from what you need at your following sessions. To accommodate these daily changes, please let Ashley know BEFORE each session so she can make the necessary adjustments and provide the best session possible.
* Therapeutic massage, and especially barefoot massage, should NEVER be painful. If the pressure "hurts but at the same time feels good," that's okay! Having the "no pain, no gain" mentality does not support healthy recovery within your fascial tissues. Please share any thoughts or concerns you have about pressure & the way barefoot massage should feel before or during your session.
* Unless otherwise specified, it is highly recommended that you remove all your clothing after your therapist exits the treatment room. Yes, this includes undergarments. Professional draping is required for all sessions & proper draping techniques will ALWAYS be used so you will feel safe & secure throughout your entire session.
* Ashley is not one to chat much during your massage unless it's related to your session (she's focused on your muscles, fascia, & alignment!). She understands that chatting may help ease your mind and help you to feel more comfortable, but know that you do not have to talk during your session--silence is welcome.
A valid credit card is required to reserve your first appointment along with prepayment of your first session in full at the time of booking. Cash or personal checks are not accepted for first time appointments. Additionally, exact cash is accepted for recurring appointments, but personal checks are not. All sales final.
Scheduling an appointment as a surprise/gift for a new client, along with same day appointments, will not be accepted.
If the phone is not answered when calling SoleCal Barefoot Massage & Wellness, leave a message and Ashley will return your call at her earliest convenience during business hours. No texting.
HEALTH & WELLNESS
Make sure your personal hygiene is acceptable when receiving your massage. Dirty feet will not receive work. No heavy odors or fragrances, please, as Ashley is allergic.
Services will not be given to anyone who has contagious illnesses. This includes the common cold, flu, etc., or anything that is “lingering,” such as a cough. If you are ill or not feeling well, you’ll need to reschedule your appointment out of respect, safety, and consideration to Ashley and her other clients. You can do so by calling or sending an email.
Regarding masks: If you want to wear a mask, your therapist will wear one too. If either you or your therapist has the sniffles, you both will wear masks. If there is a local surge or if hospitals are being affected, masks will be required by all until the surge decreases.
If you have had any surgery or cosmetic work within the last 72 hours to 9 months, an injury in the last 24 hours, or have a medical condition please let Ashley know prior to your appointment as it may affect scheduling.
If you've chosen to receive any vaccine or shot for preventative healthcare measures, Ashley requests that you wait a minimum of seven (7) days after your shot to receive bodywork. If you're still experiencing symptoms after seven (7) days, please postpone scheduling an appointment until all symptoms are no longer present.
It is necessary to arrive 10-15 minutes before your appointment so we can start on time. Arriving early allows you to settle in and gives enough time for a thorough consultation.
Your appointment has been scheduled specifically for you. If you’re running late, call Ashley at 949-630-8624 to let her know.
If for any reason you cannot arrive on time, your appointment will proceed and end as scheduled. Depending on your tardiness, Ashley will determine if there is enough time to begin your session. Regardless of how much time you actually receive, you will be responsible for the full payment of the service.
If you’re more than 15 minutes late and have not called, Ashley will assume you are not showing. This may result in Ashley leaving the building or starting her next client early. Either way, you are responsible for the payment of your session.
Clients who forget or consciously choose to forgo their appointment for whatever reason will be considered a “no-show.” If you have prepaid your service, Ashley reserves the right to automatically deduct payment in full to cover your missed appointment from these funds.
If you have not prepaid, your credit card on file will be charged 15 minutes after your scheduled appointment time. If your card on file is declined, you will be billed an invoice via Square for the full amount of your missed appointment. This must be paid in full prior to rescheduling.
To be effective and fair to everyone, 24 hours notice in the form of a phone call or email is required when cancelling an appointment. If you are unable to give 24 hours advance notice, you will be charged the full amount of your session. If the phone is not answered when calling to cancel, leave a message to avoid unwanted charges.
If you have a prepaid session, membership, or series and cancel with less than 24 hours notice, your session will be forfeited. Ashley reserves the right to automatically deduct payment in full to cover your missed appointment from these funds. If you have not prepaid your service, your credit card on file will be charged. If your card on file is declined, you will be billed an invoice via Square for the full amount of your missed appointment. This must be paid in full prior to rescheduling.
If you have a prepaid session, membership, or series and cancel with more than 24 hours notice, it is the client's responsibility to reschedule based on availability. All sales final.
Clients who have had two cancellations with less than 24 hours notice within a one year time period will be required to pay a non-refundable retainer for the full amount for any future appointments to remain on the schedule. Those who chronically reschedule appointments, will no longer be able to schedule appointments in the future.
RIGHT TO REFUSE OR TERMINATE SERVICES
Ashley reserves the right to use her discretion to terminate any session at any time. Clients may be responsible for payment of the terminated session. If the session was prepaid, it will be considered used and no refunds will be given.
Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. Any inquiry, act, or comment that is made to cause Ashley to feel uncomfortable in any way will result in immediate termination of the session with full payment required. These clients will be reported to the local police department and will no longer be allowed to receive treatments at SoleCal Barefoot Massage & Wellness.
Additional reasons to terminate may include, but are not limited to the following:
Contagious illness such as cold, flu, or anything that is “lingering”Being under the influence of pain killers whether OTC or prescription, alcohol, or other drugs causing the client not to be able to accurately gauge painPoor hygieneBeing late, cancelling last minute, or chronically rescheduling
MEMBERSHIPS / SERIES
Clients holding a membership with SoleCal Barefoot Massage & Wellness agree to have the amount of one (1) SoleCal service automatically debited from their desired account at the first of each month. There are no long-term contracts and no initial fees. Unused sessions do not rollover.
If the card linked to the client’s desired account is declined at the first of the month, it is the client’s responsibility to pay the invoice by 11:59pm PST that day.
Failure to comply will result in an invoice sent via Square for the full amount of the membership invoice with the addition of an Insufficient Funds fee of $30.00 to be paid prior to their upcoming appointment. Invoices that are not paid by the end of the month will result in membership termination with the outstanding balance due immediately in full.
To cancel membership, written notice must be given thirty (30) days prior to the upcoming invoice.
Clients who have a prepaid series agree to pay upfront for the series. Sessions within the series must be used within a six (6) month period. Unused sessions do not rollover.
COUPONS & PROMOTIONS
Coupons and promotions cannot be combined with any other offers and are only valid for a single session. They must be used by the expiration date and hold no cash value.
Minors ages 17 and younger must have a parent or guardian present to give consent and sign the new client paperwork. The parent or guardian must remain in the room for the entirety of the session.
CREDIT CARD AUTHORIZATION
I, the client, authorize Ashley Shears, LMT LLC (dba SoleCal Barefoot Massage & Wellness) to charge my credit card on file for the agreed upon services/products or in the event of a cancellation without proper notice. I understand that my information will be saved to file for future transactions on my account and it is my responsibility to inform the business of any updates/changes to the card.
This agreement releases Ashley Shears, LMT LLC (dba SoleCal Barefoot Massage & Wellness) and its faculty from all liability relating to injuries that may occur during or after sessions. By signing this agreement, I, the client, agree to hold the aforementioned parties entirely free from any liability, including financial responsibility for injuries incurred, regardless of whether injuries are caused by negligence. By signing below, I forfeit all rights to bring a suit against Ashley Shears, LMT LLC (dba SoleCal Barefoot Massage & Wellness) for any reason.
I have informed the massage therapist of all known physical and medical conditions, that all provided information is accurate and true, and I will keep the massage therapist updated on any changes. I understand that there shall be no liability on the therapist’s part should I forget to do so.
I further understand that the massage should not be construed as a substitute for medical treatment or medication and that it is recommended I work concurrently with my primary care provider for any condition I may have. I am aware that the massage therapist does not diagnose illness or disease, does not prescribe medications, and that spinal manipulations are not a part of massage therapy.
I also understand that all services are strictly therapeutic and completely non-sexual. Inappropriate behavior will result in termination of my services with full payment due immediately.
Lastly, I fully understand the therapist’s policies and I agree to abide by them. I also agree to make every effort to obey safety precautions as listed and as explained to me verbally.
