    A successful trial depends on the help of its volunteers!
  •  VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

    Note: many volunteer positions require walking, standing and bending. *May be sit down jobs.

    Chief Steward – Organizes, trains, deploys volunteers throughout event.  May also work the gate.

    Element Set up – Ensures all setup is complete for assigned Element, at the Judges direction, including line of site, start lines, boundary marking.  Friday & Saturday afternoon, Sunday morning

    Clean up – Site preparation for the next day, removal and loading of all trial gear at Trial(s) completion.

    *Timer – Timing competitor runs. Timer must commit doing an to entire class.

    *Gate Steward – Managing flow for the trial element area, assisting competitors positioning pre-search.  May Handle/set warmup boxes and uses vinyl, latex or nitrile gloves when doing so.

    *Judge Steward – Bring competitors to the start line, remind each of the time limit and leash options for the search. May place or adjust odor hides at judge’s direction and wears vinyl, latex or nitrile gloves when doing so.  May be asked to Cleanup or tidy search areas between competitors which may  include sweeping, vacuuming, or disposing of spilled sand or water in the buried element search area.

    HD Hide Steward - Must wear vinyl, latex or nitrile gloves when handling odor containers/boxes, etc. to prevent contamination.  Handles and places hides for each exhibitor at the Judge’s direction.

    Hot Box Steward - Is only person who and handles the hot container holding an odor vessel by wiping or cleaning it while wearing latex or nitrile gloves. Replaces the hot container at judge’s direction.

    Score Runner - Carries score sheets from search areas to Score Table throughout the trial.

    *Registration Table– Check in of arriving Competitors and Volunteers. Assistance at Score Table with verification of score sheet completion before data entry.

    JOIN A COMMITTEE:

    Photo Booth Committee: Setting up the photo booth. With back drops and props. This committee picks a theme and designs it.

    Volunteer Coordinator Committee: Helps pre-plan volunteer needs prior to trials, organizes and train positions.


    Social Media & Website Committee: This is a great way to get involved too. Post on our Facebook page. It is open for anyone to post. Provide information for our website, photos of you and your dog and articles for the site.


    Snap Shots Committee: Someone to take photos at the trial. Not just professional ones. It is supposed to be fun; this is a social club.


    Annual & Special Events Committee: Organize events such but not limited to volunteer appreciation BBQ, housekeeping events such as trailer event we have coming up or an award banquet or other such events.


    *Membership Committee: Sents out a welcome package for new members. Talk about rule books and people to man the table. Answer questions about club membership.


    Trial Hospitality Committee: Arranging food, give aways, picking up food or water. Someone to train people how to use Agility Gate. Someone to man the tables.
