OPA DESIGN REQUEST FORM Logo
  • Design Support for Academic and Research Units

The Office of Public Affairs (OPA) provides design assistance to Mississippi State University faculty and staff working within official academic and research units. Our team is here to help promote programs, elevate research initiatives, and support recruitment and outreach efforts through professional, brand-compliant visual materials.

We specialize in original design work and maintain MSU’s visual identity standards across all materials. Our goal is to help showcase your unit’s work in a way that is consistent, polished, and effective.

    Please Note:

    • This form is intended only for faculty and staff submitting requests on behalf of official MSU academic and research units.
    • We do not coordinate printing for materials not designed by OPA.
    • If you already have a completed design and simply need brand review or approval, please submit it directly to the MSU Brand Hub: https://brand.msstate.edu/hub
    • We do not accept requests related to:
      • Class assignments or presentations
      • Student organizations (clubs, fraternities/sororities, societies, or chapters)

  • SPONSORED VS REGISTERED

Sponsored student organizations may have logos that use the formal university unit set-up, or use spirit marks with typography including the words “Mississippi State University” and/or “MSU” in combination with the organization’s name. Any sponsored student organization that includes spirit marks in their logo must receive approval from the offices of Public Affairs and General Counsel.

    Sponsored Example:

Registered student organizations may have logos that use spirit marks and can use the name of the organization along with “at Mississippi State University” or “at MSU.”  Typically, registered student organizations are also a chapter or group of an already established national organization. They are not allowed to use the university unit set-up as their organization’s logo. Any student organization that includes spirit marks in their logo must receive approval from the offices of Public Affairs and General Counsel.

  • Support Graphic Request

Please carefully read the section in the Visual Identity Standards regarding support graphics. In summary, it states that a support graphics created for programs, campus organizations, events and research cannot be used as a standalone artwork on promotional materials – the piece must include the MSU primary academic university logo or that unit’s formal university logo.
