Spay/Neuter Clause
It is strictly against Wag Again Rescue’s policy to let a dog leave our care without first being spayed or neutered. The only exception to the policy is in the case of puppies which are too young to undergo surgery before they are adopted. In that case, this Spay/Neuter Adoption Contract must be completed
In accordance with your Adoption Contract with Wag Again Rescue, in accordance with Tex. Health & Safety Code § 828.002, all dogs and cats adopted through a rescue must be altered (spayed/neutered) by 7 Months of age. This is also in accordance with OR Code of Ordinances 90.15 and WA Code of Ordinances 5.04.065.
You will be provided a list of veterinary providers who can perform the spay/neuter in the Oregon/Washington area. All costs associated with the surgical procedure will be paid for by Wag Again Rescue, if you use one of our providers. If you chose to use your own provider, Wag Again Rescue will pay towards the surgical procedure, the amount in accordance with pricing at our veterinary providers, pricing is posted on their website.
Upon completion of the spay/neuter, medical records must be sent from your veterinarian to Wag Again Rescue. If you, as an adopter of a Wag Again Rescue dog, do not comply with this requirement, we are required to notify the local animal control office where you reside to seize the Pet.
This adoption will not be considered complete until proof is provided to Wag Again Rescue.
