We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us throw the culinary event of the season - The Next Course - on Thursday, October 17th.
At this unique event, guests get to hear from the chefs as each course is presented, see how each dish is prepared, and take home a booklet of the evening's recipes to recreate their favorites at home.
Each year, the proceeds are used to meet specific needs on Youth Home's campus. In past years, this event has helped us renovate our campus kitchen that serves over 100 meals a day, furnish patient cottages to make their house feel more like home, and upgrade cottage fixtures to meet the highest standards for safety and utility.
There are several volunteer areas for you to choose from:
Wednesday, October 16th -1pm-5pm
It takes a lot of cutlery and dishes to serve five courses. We need help taking an inventory to ensure we have everything needed. If we have time, we'll start setting up the dining room.
Thursday, October 17th - Shifts all day
Morning Set-Up at 9am-Noon:
We'll be arranging tables, placing linens, and setting up the dining room.
Afternoon Set-Up at 1pm-5pm:
We'll be placing the silver and glassware (we'll train you) and decorations for the evening.
The Next Course - 5pm-10pm*
Server - MOST NEEDED -
We need volunteers to be part of a team that serves each course and its wine pairing. You may also be asked to help pass hors d'oeuvres during the pre-dinner reception. (We'll provide training.)
- MOST NEEDED
- Wash dishes, help with clean-up throughout the evening and give the chefs a hand if needed during the event.
Friday, October 18th - 9am-Noon
A few volunteers are needed to help inventory the items used for the dinner service (it's really easy) and finish packing up the event.
If you volunteer as a server or in the kitchen, you are eligible to receive two complimentary tickets to attend Eggshibition on Friday, April 3, 2020 as a thank you!
This year's event is at Ben E. Keith Foods in North Little Rock. We will provide food for all volunteers who are helping during the dinner.
