  • ALBUM CHART

Singles- These are typically recorded with 2 songs max. They can contain multiple versions from clean, dirty, and acapella to instrumental. These were once sold but nowadays they are given to DJs for spins mostly.

EP- Extended Play, This is a collection of music with more than just a single but not long enough to qualify as a studio album. The estimated length that the industry gives is 25 minutes or 4 tracks. And there have been numerous double EPs released over time.

LP- Long Play, This is a collection of music that qualifies as a full album release. Usually 40 minutes or 10 tracks at the minimum. There have been multiple disc albums up to 4x released in history.

Album- What an album is today is an LP that is promoted and sold where Neilsen Soundscan can keep track; also count towards a record contract to being completed. Albums are made by artists but controlled by record labels on every level; even in the creation process.

Mixtapes- These have become underground albums today that are given away for free containing both original and unoriginal works. The soul purpose is to build a fan base, not profit. Typically the artist is in complete control of this project so they decide the length, content, etc.

  • IAMTMusiQ Development Plan

    1. Single Release Strategy= stacking up singles one by one, snowball release effect, staircase. ****What this means for Artist: With this method, the artist completes and put out new singles one song at a time to package the album or EP/Album of the same songs later. Each song will be purchased as Individuals (Single Price Rate$) and released at your desired time. ****What this means for Music Production Team: Artist is placed on the list in order based on the anticipated release date and final payment. Production Team will complete/produce one song at a time and send you the files when each individual song and final payment is complete. (This strategy can tend to get more expensive because the artist is paying for one individual song at a time. Remastering may be needed.)

    2. EP/Album Release Strategy= waterfall or stream of singles released at one time or simultaneously. ****What this means for Artist: With this method, the artist is free to write, record, and prepare multiple songs at a time over a longer period. Monthly/Periodic Payments can be made as songs are being created. Mastering all songs simultaneously. The final payment is not due until all songs on the album are complete. (Album Price Rate$/Discount) Songs are not released individually. Collection of songs released as an album. **** What this means for Production Team: Production Team will work to complete and produce multiple songs over a longer period. Musicians/Producers may receive $ advancements and/or Monthly/Periodic payments for commitment (contract) to work on the full album. The final payment is received by the team.
