Generator Volunteer Member Application
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Generator! We appreciate you taking the time to complete this application to become a volunteer member for a reduced rate of $40/month.

Many factors are considered in volunteer selection, including experience, availability, and diversity. Volunteers are selected by a panel of Generator staff.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis with the goal of filling all of the remaining open shifts.

Volunteer responsibilities are shared by all Generator volunteers and include:
- Staffing the Front Desk to Welcome & Check in Members/Guests
- Keeping Generator Clean!
- Assisting with Administrative Tasks
- Maintaining Tools & Equipment
**Generator also offers limited opportunities for 'Shop Lead' volunteer positions.**

Being a Volunteer Member is a Commitment!

Generator members rely on volunteers -- and specifically Front Desk Volunteers -- to show up for their shifts to keep Generator open and safe.

Volunteers may swap shifts with other volunteer members provided that coverage for their shift is secured. Unexcused* missed shifts is harmful to our community and more than 3 missed or uncovered shifts is grounds for losing your Volunteer Membership. *Excused absences could be due to sickness, concern of COVID contagiousness, unforeseen personal circumstances, etc.

If you are unable to complete a shift due to unforeseen circumstances, sickness, etc., please notify the Membership Coordinator, Eric Roy, membership@generatorvt.com - proactive communication helps us support our volunteers and the Generator community!

Being a Volunteer Member at Generator is $40/month.

This represents a $55 monthly discount from the $95/month regular rate!

Membership fees (general or volunteer) do not nearly cover the costs of keeping Generator, and extremely expensive tools and machinery, operating safely and smoothly -- Though volunteer memberships enable us to make Generator more accessible to more people, we also understand the unusual nature of paying to volunteer.
