Thank you for considering the easiest, cheapest and possibly most satisfying modification you can make to your FJ or other compatible vehicle! We all know it’s nice to have some cool, summer mountain air passing through our vehicles when the windows are down, and this is the best way to do it!
Benefits:
- Increases airflow to rear passengers and/or furry friends.
- Eliminates buffeting when front windows are down, and rear window is closed.
- In addition, you will not experience buffeting when front windows are up, and rear window is open.
- This unit is flexible and not rigid like some other products or perhaps something you’re using from the hardware store, which not only keeps it from rattling, it will flex (the longer Win-do-hickeys moreso) in the event the back glass comes into contact with something, like backing into a tree branch.
- Should still not allow rain to enter vehicle since the window opens from the bottom (depending on conditions).
- Will keep your vehicle cooler when parked.
- Extremely simple installation and removal.
- Option to leave in place and still lock window or remove and attach to keychain or store easily as it’s quite small.
- Will work on other vehicle makes/models with similar latches. (Works on my wife's 2014 Toyota Highlander also! )
Considerations:
- Will obviously allow more road noise then when closed.
- Very occasional exhaust odor (mostly when backing up) and depending on which direction your tailpipe is pointed (to the side is better than straight back).
- Traveling down dusty, dirt roads may allow more earth into your vehicle than normal.
- Increased possibility of a break-in if you leave it in place somewhere sketchy for a long period of time.
- It is not recommended to leave your furry friend in a vehicle unattended with the Win-do-hickey in place unless they are well behaved. Obvious pets vs. hot vehicle common sense rules apply here.
- You will not want to operate the rear wiper or go through the car wash with it in place.

Instructions: (Some photo instructions are below the ordering portion of this page also.)
1. Open the rear door, unlatch and open the glass window about 8 inches. (Insert key in rear door and hold to the right until it pops open.)
2. Take the ring portion of the Win-do-hickey and push it into the latch until you hear it click.
3. Bring the window down near the rubber portion of the Win-do-hickey and with one of the two ends in each hand, put the two knotted ends through the window latch, each one in opposing directions, pull them tight and then tie a simple overhand knot (like the first part of tying a shoe). This is the magic of the Win-do-hickey as this simple knot is ridiculously strong for its simplicity and you will now not be able to push the window out at this point. This same knot alone can be used to hang hammocks through a similar ring or eye-hook and is easily undone for height adjustment. However, it is only 'strong' when there is a load on it, so the next step is needed to keep it from coming loose.
4. Now tie another overhand knot, opposite in direction of your first knot to form a square knot and pull tight and that's it! Enjoy!
To remove or unlatch and close window:
1. Turn the rear door key to the right again to unlatch the ring.
2. You can now either untie the knots and store it or put it on your keyring, or slide the knots up to the top of the window latch and push the window to its latched and locked position again. (This may take more force than usual or not possible with your particular vehicle due to clearances.) The Win-do-hickey can stay attached this way and just make sure to swing the ring away from the glass, so it doesn't touch and rattle against it.
