• Innovation Works Collaboration Form

Innovation Works (IW) supports social entrepreneurs through the full entrepreneurship journey with its five-stage social enterprise development pipeline, allowing leaders to enter the pipeline at any stage. Complete this form if you are interested in working with us!
  • Eligibility Information

IW has a mission to reduce Baltimore’s neighborhood racial and wealth divides by supporting and accompanying leaders of social enterprises working to create sustainable neighborhood economies. For this reason, we have decided to support emerging and established social entrepreneurs who meet the following eligibility requirements:

    • Your business or organization (whether it is established or still an idea) must be dedicated to having a positive social impact in Baltimore City - especially for historically economically disinvested communities.
    • Your business or organization (whether it is established or still an idea) must be open to adopting a social enterprise model. This means, no matter your legal structure (i.e., for-profit, nonprofit, hybrid), your enterprise will balance working towards a social mission with generating revenue to decrease your need for grants.
  • Hmm...

It looks like IW’s resources aren’t the best fit for you. We are part of a larger network of resources in the region providing support to for-profit, nonprofit, and hybrid organizations. Below are some places to check out to explore other options in the city. We are happy to make any connections, if possible.

    • Baltimore BASE Network - check out their vendor directory!
    • Maryland Entrepreneur Hub
    • ESO Starter Guide
    • Made in Baltimore - great for manufacturing businesses!
    • Baltimore Creatives Acceleration Network (BCAN)

  • IW Stage Placement

Innovation Works’ SE support pipeline is broken up into five “stages” with tailored resources to best support the entrepreneurs placed in that stage. SEs are placed in one of the five stages based on their needs and level of growth. Please review THIS DOCUMENT about the five stages and select which stage you think best describes you.

  • Documentation

We have found it is important for SEs to document their work along the entrepreneurial journey. This allows them to better understand their own enterprise and share their progress with others. If you have any documentation of your work that might help us determine your eligibility and possible support, please include those materials below.
