TERMS & CONDITIONS
All works must be for sale, with a portion of sales going to the Westdale Theatre. The artist may choose one of the following amounts to donate back to the theate: 25%, 50%, 100%. The Westdale will handle all sales and provide a tax receipt for any donation from the sale of the artwork.
All exhibited works must be original art for which the entry artist(s) is/are the authors(s) and sole owner(s) of copyright. Artists grant the Westdale Theatre a non-exclusive worldwide license to commission and publish photographs of each of the exhibited for its own promotional purposes for a five year term upon acceptance of the artwork for the exhibit, for the term of said license, waives all moral rights in respect of said works in favour of the Westdale Theatre for these purposes.
All two dimensional works must be gallery ready and wired to hang. We accept D clips – i.e. nothing protruding from the painting on the back. You can purchase D clips at any hardware store or art store or online. At this time we are only accepting 2 dimensional works. Each work must have a label attached (on the back) stating the artist’s name, contact information, title of the work, size, price and medium. Each artist will submit a one page Artist Statement for the catalogue.
All accepted works must be delivered to the Westdale Theatre on the specified date and time ONLY. All work will remain on in the exhibit for the duration of the show. After the exhibit has closed, all exhibited works must be picked up on the specified date and time ONLY.
Any work damaged while in the care and custody of the Westdale Theatre will be assessed by a professional art conservator and any repairs required will either be performed by a professional art conservator or the Westdale Theatre will pay the artist the conservator’s fee (not to exceed $2,000), if the artist opts to perform the art repair themselves. Any work that is determined to be unrepairable by the art conservator, is lost or stolen will be insured by the Westdale Theatre for the stated price or market value, not to exceed $2,000 of each work for the duration of the exhibition. The Westdale Theatre accepts no responsibility and will not insure works delivered to its premises before the appointed time for delivery or remaining in its custody after the appointed time for their retrieval. The Westdale Theatre reserves the right to remove any work for a certain performance or evening if the need arises.
