INDIGENOUS VOTER VOICES: Community & Ballot Strong
In Arizona, Native Americans have demonstrated a long history of defending and protecting their right to vote - a basic right in a democracy. Not only have they continued to fight for their rights to preserve their respective traditions and cultures, but they’ve also continued to fight for their right to fully participate in state and federal elections. We know that the Native American vote can, and often does, make a difference in election outcomes, especially in statewide elections. However, without consistent voter participation in every election, Native people continue to lack a voice in local, state and national policies that directly impact their lives and communities. The following questions are created specifically to learn more about what motivates urban Native American voters living in Maricopa County. We appreciate your input.
