If an exchange visitor wants to rent an apartment, they must be aware of the following. Many apartment complexes will charge a deposit with the first month’s rent. The leasing agent will be able to give the exchange visitor all the information of pricing. The exchange visitor may also have to secure their own furniture rental for the time they will be leasing the apartment, as well as pay for utilities such as gas, electricity, water, trash and sewer, as well as other utilities as provided by the apartment community.

Important
The exchange visitor must include photos of the housing (the exterior, the room they will be sleeping in, the bathrooms, the living space, the kitchen) on page three.
If an exchange visitor wants to rent through AirBnB, they must message the landlord to ask for their phone number prior to booking so LifeTRAVELED can call them to verify information.
It is common for housing in the USA to be mixed gender, so exchange visitors should ask the landlord about this if they want a speciifc gender arragement in their housing.
