• Dirt in the Wrong Hands

    Open Call at QUAID Gallery
  • What happens when we take the objects that are usually made from clay and then make them out of something else? QUAID Gallery invites artists to submit work for “Dirt in the Wrong Hands’’ an exhibition exploring clay and ceramic objects through alternative media.

Eligibility: Artwork should address themes associated with ceramic materials, ceramics objects and clay in general, but utilize materials outside the traditional definitions of ceramics. Accepted media includes photography, film, 2d and 3d mixed media; anything but clay.

    Juror: Johanna Keefe

Johanna Keefe is an artist currently working and living between Augusta, Georgia and Rochester, New York. Before moving back to the USA she spent four years living in Europe researching and investigating the history of ceramics and contemporary art. Her work pays special attention to ceramics from Asia and Europe, along with other commodities of the period, and their trade routes to the USA. Currently she is focused on the currency and value of luxury brands from Italy and their relationship to historical trade systems.
