Thank you for your interest in attending the Cincinnati Chapter SLA "Data Skills" series workshop - Data Visualization Basics & Tools.
About the Workshop: Data Visualization combines both art & design with math & science in order to present complex data in an easily-digestible graphic. This workshop introduce the fundamental principles and concepts that make up an effective data visualization. These include: choosing the appropriate chart type, design best practices, understanding color theory, and basic data types. Participants will work with data these visualization principles and data visualization software tools through hands-on and group exercises. Please bring your own laptop for the hands-on exercises.

Date: Wednesday, August 7, 2019, 1:00-4:00pm. (Please arrive by 12:45pm to ensure a prompt start time)
Location: Visualization Laboratory - Geology-Math-Physics Library, 240H Braunstein Hall, University of Cincinnati's main campus. Map with Braunstein Hall indicated. Registration cost: $15 for Special Libraries Association members, $30 for non-members. Registration deadline is noon on Monday, August 5, 2019.
Payment: cash or check (payable to SLA Cincinnati Chapter) on the day of the workshop. A receipt can be provided at the door.
