Students in Grades 6-8 are invited to participate in “Open Youth Room” sponsored by the Youth Ministry Programs at St. Michael and St. Albert’s Catholic Churches. Open Youth Room is held 2 Wednesday afternoons a month at St. Michael Catholic Church beginning on September 18 from 2-5:00 pm. Please see the church website for exact dates of Open Youth Room.
This is not a school sponsored activity, therefore, parents are responsible for transportation plans. All students must have a signed form on file in the office regarding Open Youth Room. This form will remain posted to the Middle Level Webpage or can be found in the Appendix of the StMCS Handbook at any time.
The Youth Ministry staff has behavioral guidelines and their own required paperwork in place for participating students. Students are expected to behave appropriately and respectfully at all times. Students whose behavior is not in line with expectations may face disciplinary actions. The Youth Ministry staff will inform parents of behavioral issues and also reserves the right to notify StMCS administration of issues concerning enrolled students where it may affect the academic setting.
For the safety of all, we encourage parents to discuss what route you expect your child to take to the church and whether or not they have your permission to stop at local businesses (McDonalds, S.A., Dunn Brothers, Walgreens, etc.) before going to church. Neither the school nor the youth ministry team will be managing this. However, we do have a vested interest in student behavior when they are stopping by businesses wearing our red uniform shirts. Please discuss proper behavior when patronizing businesses in groups of friends.
