Guidelines
Required: Deceased’s full name, location of death, date of death (should you wish to include it, cause of death may be listed), name and location of birth, names of parents (may include mother’s maiden name), any service notice that you wish the public to know about - include date, time, and location (funeral, celebration of life, honoring, etc.)
Obituaries often include other information, for example: description of early years - high school name and graduation date, military service and or college attendance and degrees. Date and location of marriage and spouse(s), children and work history is often included. Retirement date, favorite hobbies, proud lifetime achievements, family members who precede the person in death, names of survivors (ie: spouse, children, siblings, extended family) and the towns they live in are also often included. Name of the mortuary attending to the family and the decedent’s wishes for donations to charities in their memory if applicable may also be included.
At the end of this form, you can upload any photo(s) you wish to accompany the obituary. (Photos publish head and shoulders only at half a column wide and are $10 each.)
