ASPIRE(Plus) Coaching Model Training
Dr. Michael Wehmeyer will be at the GaDOE on October 2nd and October 3rd to provide training on the coaching model that will be used to implement and monitor the partnership grant (ASPIREPlus). This grant provides the opportunity for the state to scale-up self-determination initiatives, including implementation of the Self-Determined Learning Model of Instruction (SDLMI), and conduct research on the effectiveness of the student-led IEP initiative (ASPIRE) and the SDLMI in Georgia. Districts that have volunteered to participate in this initiative should send district and/or school personnel who will be the “experts” in the implementation and monitoring of ASPIREPlus to this training. GLRS Directors and/or designees who provide support to the districts are also invited to attend.
Two days will be provided for the training. Participants need to register for only one day of training. The dates and times with registration links are provided below. The sessions will be held in the West Tower, Training Rooms A, B, and C of the GaDOE (205 Jesse Hill Jr. Drive, Atlanta, Ga. 30334). If you have any questions, contact Elise James (ejames@doe.k12.ga.us ) or Wina Low (wlow@doe.k12.ga.us ). We look forward to your participation in this event.
