Traditionally, doulas are non-medical personnel who are trained as emotional and physical support attendants for the labor, birth, and postpartum period. Abortion doulas focus specifically on abortion support in a variety of ways. The Knoxville Abortion Doula Collective offers opportunities for volunteers to participate in local and regional advocacy, in-clinic support, and phone counseling via our support line, wrap-around care for people seeking abortion (before, during, and after), community and regional outreach through training and events, and practical care like rides, housing, childcare and transportation.  We are seeking volunteers to provide remote assistance from all over the country. Our volunteer coordinator will reach out within seven days of your application.
