  • It’s really important to us that you feel comfortable with who is acting as your tax agent.

    In most cases, people sign up with My Refund by completing our online form. 

    We can send you a copy of your original authority to act and explain how and when you signed up. If something doesn’t look right, we’ll fix it.

  • Lots of people like the idea of going straight to IRD. The benefit of staying with My Refund is that:

    • We check your income and expenses to make sure you’re not missing out on a refund
    • We can claim for multiple years, not just the current one

    You’re always free to deal with IRD directly, but if you stay with us we’ll keep an eye on things and help you get what you’re entitled to.

  • We’re really sorry to hear that – this is not the experience we want anyone to have with My Refund.

    If you’re open to it, we’d love the chance to review what happened, fix any issues, and see if we can make it right.

    Often a quick chat clears things up, and in some cases we may be able to adjust how we handle your account going forward.

  • Our fees are outined in our terms and conditions that you agreed to when signing up for our services. If you have received an invoice, removing My Refund does not void this invoice. 

    Our fees are tax deducable, which means that we can add these as an expense in your next return, helping you to get a bigger refund.

This helps ensure all correspondence and any future refunds are sent to you correctly. You can update your details through your myIR account or by calling Inland Revenue on 0800 775 247.
