Instructor Course Requirements & Cancellation/Refund Policy
Instructor Course Summary This course will train instructor candidates to teach basic-level First Aid, CPR and AED courses. In order to participate in this course, you must possess a current basic-level American Red Cross Adult CPR/AED (or higher level) certification or equivalent and be at least 16 years of age on the last day of the instructor course. Upon registration, it is important that you review and follow the directions on the e-mail attachment sent with your registration confirmation. This is a blended learning course consisting of online content, a pre course skills session and classroom segments. Online material must be completed prior to attending the classroom activities. For more information, please reference the attachment you will receive via e-mail when you register for this course. To successfully complete the Instructor Course, you must: 1. Provide proof that you will be at least 16 years of age by the end of the instructor course. 2. Provide proof that you possess a current American Red Cross basic level Adult CPR/AED certificate or higher-level certificate. AHA BLS is required for AHA Instructor Course** 3. Provide proof of completion of the Instructor Online Pre-Course 4. Successfully complete the Pre-Course CPR Skills Check Assessment 5. Attend, on time, all Instructor Course sessions (approximately 6 hours) 6. Participate fully in and show basic level mastery of the Instructor Course materials presented during the 2-day course. 7. Score at least 80% on the written examination ** Note: Although the American Red Cross only requires the basic level Adult CPR/AED certification to participate in the instructors course, it is HIGHLY recommended that participants have the Adult & Pediatric CPR/First Aid/AED certification, as you will be tested on Pediatric and First Aid Skills in addition to Adult CPR skills during the Pre-Course Skills Check. Refund Policy for Instructor Training Courses: • Refunds will be granted to those who cancel 14 days prior to the course - minus a $35 processing fee. • Cancellations between 7-14 days prior to the course start date will receive a 75% refund. • Cancellations between 3-7 days prior to the course start date will receive a 50% refund. • There will be no refunds granted for no-shows or cancellations 3 days or less prior to the course start date. • All Refund Policies are in effect regardless of the reason for cancellation. • Please note: Instructor Courses are only offered in any area every 2-3 months.
