OPEN or CLOSED TEAM:

Open teams allow any player seeking to play that meets the criteria of the team (e.g. age, NTRP) to automatically join the team. Open teams can add notes that players can view as they're seeking a team (e.g. "Looking for singles players", "We're just looking to have fun")

Closed teams do not allow players to automatically join. Closed teams can optionally receive emails when players are looking for a team.
