* If you do not have a roommate, we will pair you with another participant if possible. Priority wil be given when the room is full.

DEPOSIT REQUIRED TO RESERVE YOUR SPACE

A 50% deposit is necessary to secure your spot, with the remaining balance due by June 1, 2024. Failure to complete the payment by the due date may result in the forfeiture of your spot.

Deposits can be made by check or Venmo.  Once this form is completed, you will be sent instructions via email on how to send in your deposit.

All deposits and payments are non-refundable. If retreat sells out AND you find someone to take your spot, a partial refund may be given at Retreat Savvy's discretion less a $300 administration fee. 

 YOUR FLIGHT INFORMATION and GROUND TRANSPORTATION:

Flights should arrive at Venice Marco Polo airport (VCE) by Friday, July 5th before 3:00 p.m. and depart from VCE on Friday, July 12 after 2:00 p.m. to be eligible for the included Airport Transfer service. Alternatively, you have the option to schedule an individual car service for €330 from VCE to Cortina or €700 from Ortisei to VCE. Another option is to take the Cortina Express Bus (www.cortinaexpress.it). Please note that the included transportation operates only at specific times. In the event of a significant flight delay, or if you are lost or late to the group on any given day, separate transport will need to be covered at your own expense. If you're traveling from the U.S., arriving a day or two earlier to adjust to the time difference is recommended. Our first hike on July 6th will be a milder one to help ease our transition.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

Travel insurance is highly recommended for any trip, providing crucial protection against unforeseen events. From flight cancellations to medical emergencies abroad, it offers financial coverage and assistance when you need it most. Additionally, please note that all deposits and payments for this trip are non-refundable, regardless of the circumstances.*

* RetreatSavvy retains the authority to cancel this trip under the following circumstances: fewer than 5 participants sign up; Laura Christensen experiences a personal or family emergency, illness, or any significant event preventing her from personally leading the retreat or securing a suitable replacement; or in the event of a national or global occurrence jeopardizing or preventing safe travel to Italy.

FITNESS REQUIREMENT

We require that participants have a moderate level of fitness and are comfortable with hiking uphill, as some trails may be challenging but manageable. Our hikes typically cover 4-6 miles with elevation gains of 500-1600 feet. A reasonable level of fitness is necessary to fully enjoy the experience and make the most of our adventure in the Dolomites. Please be aware that maintaining a suitable pace with the group is essential for participation. On “some” of the hikes, participants have the option to shorten or lengthen their hike independently. Hikes will not be adjusted or downgraded to accommodate one or two people in the group. If the hikes prove too challenging, participants may be asked to sit out. You may also enjoy taking the funicular up and exploring around the starting point, or indulging in a book, the sun and some apple strudel at a rifugio while waiting for the group. Additionally, you always have the option to skip a hike and relax at the spa and wellness center (additional fees apply) or roam around the village. Special accommodations are at your own expense, with guides charging $550-600/day.

2. IF and only IF the retreat fills up completely AND someone takes your spot, a partial refund may be given at Retreat Savvy’s discretion minus a $300 administration fee.
3. There is a minimum of 5 retreat participants to confirm this retreat (8 maximum). If there are not enough participants, it will be cancelled and your deposit will be refunded. Retreat Savvy is not responsible for any loses due to purchased flights, visas, passports, vaccinations, time loss or any other losses.  We highly recommend that you purchase travel insurance.
4. That I am participating in the Hiking offered by Retreat Savvy, I recognize that hiking can be dangerous and requires physical exertion that may be strenuous and may cause physical injury and even death, and I am fully aware of the risks and hazards involved. I understand that I myself am solely responsible for my own well-being and safety and will participate at my own risk. Neither Retreat Savvy, Laura Christensen, the mountains guides are anyone else is responsible for protecting my safety and well-being.
5. I understand that it is my responsibility to consult with a physician prior to and regarding my participation in the Hiking Retreat. I represent and warrant that I am physically fit and I have no medical condition that would prevent my full participation in the Hiking Retreat.
6. In consideration of being permitted to participate in the Hiking Retreat, I agree to assume full responsibility for any risks, injuries or damages, illnesses, known or unknown, which I might incur as a result of participating in the program or during my stay in Italy.
7. In further consideration of being permitted to participate in this retreat, the travel, food and hikes, I knowingly, voluntarily and expressly waive any claim I may have against Retreat Savvy, Laura Christensen, or any of my teachers, guides or assistants for injury, damages and/or illnesses that I may sustain as a result of participating in the program or traveling to, from and throughout Italy.
8. I, my heirs or legal representatives forever release waive, discharge and covenant not to sue Retreat Savvy, Laura Christensen, or any of my teachers, guides or assistants for any injury or death caused by their negligence, from traveling, hiking, doing yoga, or other acts. I have read the above release and waiver of liability and fully understand its contents. I voluntarily agree to the terms and conditions stated above.
9. I hereby give my consent to Retreat Savvy, Laura Christensen, and any of my teachers and their photographers to photograph me and use the photograph(s) for informational, educational, promotional, marketing or publicity purposes.  I understand that the photograph(s) may be used on the Retreat Savvy website or Laura Christensen’s websites, social media channels, or in displays, marketing materials, ads, or other public locations. I also understand that the photograph(s) may be used without any further consent or authorization from me; the photograph(s) may be modified in the process of editing, and I will not be entitled to any compensation for use of the photograph(s). I also agree to release Retreat Savvy, Laura Christensen, or any of my teachers, guides or assistants and their photographers from any and all liability arising out of or connected to the use of the photograph(s) as stated above.
10. I understand that it is highly recommended that I obtain travel insurance and I am aware that all deposits and payments are non-refundable under ALL circumstances, including but not limited to: illness, death, cancellation of flights, travel advisories, loss of job, etc.  If I choose not to obtain travel insurance, I do so at my own risk.
11. Retreat Savvy and Laura Christensen will do everything in their power to keep the schedule of events and venues as presented. In the case of occurrences beyond her control (i.e. illness, death, pending death, a venue closing down, travel warnings, weather, family emergencies, etc), venues, schedule, mountain guides, and retreat leader may be subject to change, or retreat subject to cancellation.

Please note that it is highly recommended that you purchase travel insurance. It is your responsibility to protect yourself should you need to cancel for any reason (sickness, death in the family, job loss, etc.). It is important to arrange travel insurance before traveling to Italy, covering for medical expenses due to illness or injury, the loss of baggage and travel documents, plus cancellation or curtailment of your journey.
