Overview
Thank you for your interest in California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom’s (CFAITC) grant program. Literacy for Life Grants are designed to initiate new projects or expand existing projects that promote agricultural literacy. Grants of up to $500 are provided to California educators to support the integration of agriculture into regular classroom instruction.
Instructions
I. Eligibility
- Literacy for Life Grants are available to certified California K-12 teachers.
- The proposed grant project must be completed within the 2019-2020 school year.
- A short, final report must be submitted to CFAITC (video, poster, slideshow, etc).
- Only include photos of students with approved photo releases on file.
II. Grant Guidelines
- Grant applications must be submitted online by October 1, 2019 at LearnAboutAg.org/grants/life.cfm.
- Grant recipients will be announced online November 1, 2019.
- Selected educators will receive funding in December 2019.
- As a grant applicant, you will be added to our Cream of the Crop e-newsletter to learn about new curriculum, conferences, events, news, other grant programs, and more.
III. Funding
- The Literacy for Life Grants will be awarded to 25 educators with a maximum of $500 each. A minimum of two will be provided to agricultural educators.
- One applicant may be selected to receive an additional $1,000 award and be named the Foundation's "Outstanding Educator of the Year."
