To the Parents and Guardians of Holy Family Students,
Below is the Diocesan Internet Permission Form. You will need to complete a separate form for each child. The purpose of this form is to give the school the opportunity to include your child in our internet activities. This would include school-related web pages, as well as participation in services from outside the school, such as Powerschool. Powerschool allows parents to have access to information about their child's grades from their home computer.
As with any internet activity, there are concerns about the security of data and safety of children. Holy Family School is well aware of these issues and continues to look for, and solve any potential problems. You will notice as part of the Diocesan guidelines the words "approved secure site" [this means no one else can access information.] The concept of secure includes, but is not limited to password protection only to authorized persons, protection of transmission, and secret identification for each child [known to only parent, teacher and principal] of data by encryption (coding) so that data cannot be intercepted or changed as it moves from computer to computer.
Holy Family School believes that the Internet has great potential to serve our entire school community - parents, teachers, administrators, and most importantly, our students. We, as your partners in the educational process, are concerned about the safety and well-being of your children. It is with much confidence that we ask that you feel comfortable in filling out the Internet Permission Form if you desire your child to participate.
It is necessary that we have this completed form on file in order for your child to participate in computer classes.
Sincerely,
Theresa Purcell
Principal, Holy Family School
