  •

Please provide all requested information. We will also require proof of purchase and a valid phone number.

Note: You MUST have direct access to the device, an internet connection, and a monitor connected to your DVR or NVR.

  •

For HDCVI DVRs and NVRs, we have included a video below to explain how a password reset request would work and also provide some alternative solutions you may be able to try to unlock your device.

  •

For 960H DVRs, 650 TVL DVRs, QCAM, and similar models, we will need to process the password request over the phone due to the design of these systems. A random code will be generated by the system every 15 minutes These particular models will NOT be completed through email and an agent will reach out to you directly to finish the process over the phone after everything is verified.

How do I perform a password reset on my camera?

For IP cameras, most cases will involve performing a hard factory reset on the camera. This process can vary by model and can be found on our knowledge base at https://amcrest.com/support.

For DVR cameras, they do not have a hard factory reset process nor a password reset process. Instead, everything is controlled by the DVR and the reset process is on it.

Do all HDCVI DVRs/NVRs all use the same password reset process?

No, most will follow this process but newer versions with -S3,S4-HS,S5,-H5 indicated at the end of the model number may use the automated process instead which is indicated by a QR code in the password  lock area. Please refer to the articles below for more information on the process with your particular model.
